Areas of Learning
The areas of Learning and Development conjoint make up the skills, knowledge and experiences appropriate for toddlers and children in the Early Childhood program as they grow, learn and develop. These are the areas of learning.
Practical Life
Practical life is the foundation for higher learning, because in this area the child acquires order, concentration, coordination and independence, by doing activites such as pouring, shoe polishing and dish washing. Just to name a few among many.
Sensorial
Sensorial is where the child develops the first three skills in the math sequence. They area also using their five senses. The work teaches them perception of differences, perception of similarities and experience in a graded series.
Math
Math- The child's sensorial training enables them to identify and differentiate the idea of quantity and abstraction. The child will gain the concept of numbers and its application in math operations such as addition, subtraction, mulitplication and division.
Language
Language - In this area the child is given opportunities to listen and use language. Spoken language is encouraged by conversation, description of objects and events, sequencing and of course reading and learning to write.
